Cactus Beach, located 21 km south of Penong, is renowned among surfers for its exceptional breaks: two left-handers, "Cactus" and "Castles," and a powerful right-hander, "Caves." The area offers camping facilities with basic amenities, including toilets and bore water showers. Access is via a dirt road from Penong, leading to a large camping area nestled among dune scrub, providing direct access to the beach. While the beach is popular for surfing, swimming is not recommended due to extensive rock flats, reefs, and the presence of large sharks.
