Butler, located on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, is a tranquil rural locality approximately 241 kilometers west of Adelaide and 31 kilometers north of Tumby Bay. Established in 1998, it derives its name from the Butler Tanks water storage facility and the Butler Railway Station, both situated within the area. The region is predominantly agricultural, with the Cummins to Buckleboo branch of the Eyre Peninsula Railway passing through, featuring stations at Butler and Mount Hill. Notably, a school operated in the area from 1905 to 1968.
