Burra Creek Nature Reserve, established in 2001, spans 270 hectares in the Burra locality, approximately 25 kilometers south of Queanbeyan. The reserve encompasses a timbered ridge with dry shrub and tussock grass forests, serving as a remnant of the original forest communities in the area. It is connected to Googong Foreshores and Cuumbeun Nature Reserve, forming part of a larger conservation area within the Queanbeyan River catchment upstream of Googong Dam.
