The Burnie Welcome Sculpture, known as "Welcome Gesture," is a striking public art installation located at the entrance to Burnie, Tasmania. Designed by artists David Hamilton and Geoff Farquhar-Still, the sculpture features a bold, yellow wave-like structure symbolizing a welcoming hand. Positioned on the island between Wilson Street and Marine Terrace along the Bass Highway, it serves as a vibrant gateway to the city. The project, funded by a $1.25 million grant from the Tasmanian Government, was completed in July 2024.
