Situated on 313 hectares of private land near Coffs Harbour, it is bordered by Bongil Bongil National Park, featuring a headland, ocean beach, and freshwater lakes. The community comprises approximately 180 members living in twelve village areas, operating independently of mains utilities by utilizing solar power and rainwater tanks. Bundagen fosters a cooperative lifestyle with shared facilities, including a library, food co-op, and community house hosting weekly cafés. Decision-making is consensus-based, with monthly community meetings and elected coordinators overseeing various administrative areas. Membership is currently closed, and the community welcomes visitors interested in intentional living.
