Abbott on September 1, 1922, with the hall constructed from reinforced concrete on land generously donated by Mr. Fred H. Lehmann. The opening ceremony took place on October 10, 1922, with Mr. G. H. Voight declaring the hall open. The hall features a plaque inscribed with "Bruce Memorial Hall A.I.F. 1914–1919," commemorating the district's contribution to the war effort.
