Broken Hill Correctional Centre

Broken Hill Correctional Centre, situated at 109 Gossan Street in Broken Hill, NSW, is a medium and minimum-security facility accommodating male and female offenders. Established in 1892, it stands as the fourth-oldest operational prison in New South Wales. The centre serves as a reception prison for a vast region bordered by Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia, housing both sentenced and remand inmates. In 2023, a Conservation Management Plan was completed to guide the preservation and sustainable management of its heritage values.
