Venue

Maryborough, VIC

Perched atop Bristol Hill Reserve, the Bristol Hill Pioneer Memorial Tower offers panoramic views of Maryborough and its surrounding bushland. Constructed in 1933 during the Great Depression, the 15-meter tower was built using materials from the old Maryborough Gaol and commemorates the pioneers who settled in the area following the gold rush. Visitors can explore several walking tracks from the tower, including routes to the Bristol Hill playground, Pioneer Cemetery Memorial, Avoca Road Park, and a historic circuit walk. The tower reopened to the public in late 2023 after extensive restoration.
