Boorabbin, WA

Boorabbin Rocks, located along the Great Eastern Highway in Western Australia, is a notable granite outcrop within the Boorabbin National Park. This historic site features a water catchment system established in the 1890s to supply water for steam locomotives traveling to and from the Goldfields. The area is rich in native flora, including flame grevillea, grass leaf hakea, and Roe’s featherflower, as well as three semi-arid banksia species: swordfish banksia, inland banksia, and the rare Lullfitz’s banksia. Visitors can explore the park's diverse eucalypt woodlands and, during the wildflower season, enjoy an abundance of blooms. The park is named after the former Boorabbin townsite, established in 1898 to provide water for steam locomotives.
