Boorabbin, WA

Boorabbin National Park, situated along the Great Eastern Highway in Western Australia's Goldfields region, offers a serene retreat into nature. The park is renowned for its diverse eucalypt woodlands and vibrant wildflower displays, especially during spring. Notable species include flame grevillea, grass leaf hakea, and Roe's featherflower. Additionally, three semi-arid banksia species—swordfish banksia, inland banksia, and the rare Lullfitz's banksia—thrive in the park's shrubby areas. The park derives its name from the former Boorabbin townsite, established in 1898 to supply water to steam locomotives en route to the Goldfields. The name "Boorabbin" originates from the Aboriginal term for a rock on the park's edge.
