Boonoo Boonoo River walk

The River Walk in Boonoo Boonoo National Park is an 8.5 km one-way trail connecting Morgans Gully picnic area, Cypress Pine campground, and Platypus Hole picnic area with Boonoo Boonoo Falls picnic area. This Grade 3 track offers scenic views, wildlife watching, swimming, and picnicking opportunities. The journey begins at Boonoo Boonoo Falls picnic area, where visitors can take the short Falls Lookout walk to view the magnificent Boonoo Boonoo Falls. The trail winds through dry eucalypt forest, showcasing wildflowers like wattles, pea flowers, and rock orchids, especially in spring, and birds such as the glossy black-cockatoo. Along the way, the Platypus Hole picnic area provides a chance to spot platypuses in the early morning and late afternoon. The track concludes at Morgans Gully picnic area, a serene spot for a relaxing snack. The walk is accessible via several points along Boonoo Boonoo Falls Road.
