Notably, Boonanarring is home to the Boonanarring Nature Reserve, established in 1991, which spans around 12,500 hectares and features a unique combination of ten vegetation types from the Swan region. This reserve supports over 570 plant species, including 13% of special interest, and provides habitat for various bird species and at least three significant small mammal species.
