Located at the corner of West Street and Railway Terrace in Burra, South Australia, the Bon Accord Mine Museum preserves the history of the Burra copper mining area from 1845 to 1877. The museum features mining relics, ore samples, and photographs, along with models of a horse whim and the Monster Mine's above-ground structures from 1858. The operational Blacksmith Shop showcases a Cornish-style forge with original elephant hide bellows. Outdoor exhibits include a horse whim core, waterwheel hub, and early fire engines. A "Ladies' Room" display features 1800s wedding dresses and a 1829 quilt. The museum is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Admission is $5 for adults, with discounts for children and concessions. National Trust members and children under 16 enter free. The museum is closed on days when the temperature exceeds 38 degrees Celsius.
