Bettafield Piggery, located at 10576 Dawson Hwy, Mount Murchison, Queensland 4715, is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sustainable pork production. Established in the early 1980s, it has evolved into a vertically integrated operation, emphasizing animal welfare and environmental responsibility. The piggery employs a three-site production system, ensuring optimal health and biosecurity for its herd. In 2014, Bettafield Piggery introduced a biogas plant, achieving self-sufficiency by converting organic waste into energy. The facility houses 1,600 breeding sows, producing 900 pigs weekly, all raised in purpose-built, climate-controlled environments.
