The Bendemeer Renewable Energy Hub, located east of the Bendemeer township in New South Wales' New England region, is a sustainable project comprising a 257 MW DC solar field and a 360 MW wind farm. The solar farm, covering up to 350.8 hectares, will feature approximately 430,000 monocrystalline silicon panels and is expected to generate 577,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 420,000 tonnes CO₂ per year. The wind farm, with about 51 turbines, aims to produce 950 GWh/year of clean energy, offsetting 690,000 tonnes CO₂ annually. This $1.2 billion project is anticipated to create over 557 jobs during construction and operation, providing significant economic benefits to the local community. Situated within the NSW Government’s New England Renewable Energy Zone, the hub will contribute to the state's net-zero emissions goal by supplying clean energy to the grid.
