Ben Hall was an Australian bushranger born in 1837, renowned for his exploits across New South Wales during the early 1860s. He became a leading member of the Gardiner-Hall gang, participating in numerous robberies from Bathurst to Forbes, and from Gundagai to Goulburn. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Hall was not directly responsible for any deaths, though several associates were. He was killed by police in May 1865 at Goobang Creek. Hall remains a prominent figure in Australian folklore, inspiring various bush ballads, books, and screen works.
