
Belalie East is a rural locality in South Australia's Mid North region, situated within the Northern Areas Council. Established in April 2001, it encompasses approximately 136 square kilometers. The Wilkins Highway traverses the area, connecting Jamestown and Hallett. Historically, Belalie East featured a school (1878–1959), a Presbyterian church built in 1881, and a Memorial Hall that opened in 1923 and remains in use today. The Coolootoo Shepherd's Hut, a remnant of the Old Canowie Station, is located on the boundary between Belalie East and Mayfield and is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register.
