Behrs Flat Campground

Behrs Flat Campground, nestled along the Swampy Plains River in Kosciuszko National Park near Khancoban, offers a serene riverside setting with historic Keebles Hut and picturesque views of the Snowy Mountains. Accessible via a 4WD track, the campground features unmarked, unpowered sites suitable for tents, camper trailers, and off-road caravans. Amenities include a long-drop toilet and a picnic table; however, visitors should bring their own firewood and ensure they pack out all rubbish. The area is renowned for fishing opportunities and a deep swimming hole near Keebles Hut. Behrs Flat Campground is closed during winter, from the June to October long weekends. While camping is free, a $6 booking fee applies, and bookings are required. Access is via the Alpine Way, with a rocky river crossing at the southern end of the flat. Please note that there is no mobile phone reception in the area.
