Along the Great Ocean Road near Peterborough, the Bay of Islands Coastal Park showcases the Southern Ocean's power through dramatic rock stacks and sheltered bays. Visitors can enjoy clifftop walks, scenic lookouts, and small beach coves, often without the crowds found at nearby attractions. The park is home to the threatened Hooded Plover and endemic Rufous Bristlebirds, with wallabies frequently spotted in the area. Between May and October, Southern Right Whales are often observed offshore. The park's small beaches are not patrolled; swimming is not recommended.
