Located at 197 Pakington Street in Geelong West, Bao Place offers a vibrant dining experience inspired by Taiwanese street food. The menu features a variety of Gua Bao, or steamed buns, with fillings such as braised pork belly, panko zucchini, pulled lamb, Gochujang chicken, tempura prawn, and honey duck, each priced between $7 and $8. Additional offerings include Xiaochi, or "little eats," like edamame, crispy tamarind Aussie school prawns, crispy miso lamb ribs, Korean fried cauliflower, teriyaki cuttlefish, and vegetable dumplings. Innovative bao-gers combine elements of burgers and Gua Bao, with flavors like beef brisket with roquette, fried shallot, cucumber, kimchi, and honey mustard; ling with cos, tartare, and cheddar; and chicken with hot sauce, slaw, and cheddar. The establishment is helmed by renowned local chef Kyle Wang, who brings over 14 years of experience in hotels and restaurants across Australia and abroad. The beverage selection includes a wine list, spirits, non-alcoholic options, and beers, including selections from MoonDog Brewing. The interior boasts beautiful timber fittings and luxurious lighting, creating an inviting atmosphere for both dine-in and takeaway experiences.
