Venue

Dartmoor, VIC

Dartmoor's Avenue of Honour, established in 1918, honors 60 World War I servicemen and nurses from the district. Over time, deteriorating Atlantic Cedars were transformed into poignant carvings by artist Kevin Gilders, depicting themes like "The Nurse," "Sad News," and "Over The Top." Adjacent to the avenue, the Village Green Playground features whimsical fairytale-themed tree carvings, including a nursery rhyme tree with over 20 characters. The area offers picnic tables, BBQ facilities, and a pond with a "spiky monster" that entertains visitors with its sounds.
