Australia Rock

Australia Rock, located at the end of Bar Rock Road in Narooma, NSW, is a distinctive rock formation featuring a natural hole that resembles the shape of mainland Australia. This unique feature has made it a popular spot for photography and sightseeing. Visitors can access the site via a steep staircase leading to the southern breakwall, offering panoramic views of the ocean, breakwalls, and Montague Island. The area is also known for its clear turquoise waters and diverse marine life, including seals and whales during migration seasons. The formation is part of the Narooma Accretionary Complex and Chevron Folds, resulting from the pressure from the Pacific Plate's collision with the land.
