The Argyle Cut is a heritage-listed roadway and cutting in The Rocks, Sydney, connecting Millers Point and The Rocks. Constructed between 1843 and 1868 using convict and paid labor, it was completed in 1859 with explosives. Overhead bridges were added in the 1860s, and the Princes Street Bridge was replaced during the 1920s for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Argyle Cut is recognized for its historical significance and engineering achievement, contributing to the development of Sydney's infrastructure.
