Embark on a 2.5km loop through Barrington Tops National Park's Antarctic Beech Forest walking track, a Grade 3 trail near Gloucester. This medium walk leads you through sub-alpine woodlands of snow gums into cool, temperate rainforest, where the dense canopy of Antarctic beech trees towers above, and vibrant moss carpets the ground. Tree ferns line the path, leading to delightful, mossy cascades. The track is a favorite haunt of the rufous scrub-bird, one of Australia's rarest birds. After a steep climb out, enjoy a bite at Gloucester Tops picnic area or Gloucester Falls picnic area.
