Ann Jones' Glenrowan Inn, established in 1878, was a timber building featuring twin gables and a verandah, serving as a popular stopover for travelers and railway workers. In June 1880, it became the focal point of the Kelly Gang's last stand, where hostages were held while awaiting the arrival of a police special train. The ensuing siege led to the inn being destroyed by fire, and tragically, the deaths of gang members and hostages, including Ann Jones' son, John. Today, the site is marked by a replica sign and a fig tree planted by Ann Jones, commemorating this pivotal moment in Australian history.
