Alexandra Bridge, WA

Nestled along the Blackwood River in Western Australia's South West, Alexandra Bridge Campground offers a serene retreat for nature enthusiasts. The historic Alexandra Bridge, constructed in 1897, once served as a vital crossing for settlers and the timber industry. Today, visitors can explore the remnants of this bridge, which was partially washed away by floods in 1982. The campground provides 21 sites on a first-come, first-served basis, each offering access to the river for activities like swimming, canoeing, fishing, and boating. Amenities include toilets, cold showers, gas barbecues, picnic tables, and a boat ramp. Camping fees are $10 per adult per night and $5 per child (2-14 years) per night, with a maximum stay of 28 days within any 3-month period. Please note that campfires are permitted only in designated fireplaces, and visitors are encouraged to extinguish them completely before departure.
