Albany's Historic Whaling Station

Albany's Historic Whaling Station, located at 81 Whaling Station Road, Torndirrup, WA 6330, is the world's only complete whaling station tourism attraction. As Australia's last operating station, it offers an immersive experience into the region's rich whaling history. Visitors can explore the fully restored Cheynes IV, the world's only preserved whale chaser ship, and view a giant blue whale skeleton. The site also features interactive exhibits, short films within converted whale oil tanks, and a collection of authentic whaling artifacts. Surrounding the station is a regional wildflower garden showcasing over 100,000 native plant species, complemented by an Australian wildlife park. The on-site café provides picturesque views of King George Sound, enhancing the educational and cultural experience for all ages.
