Nestled between Cudmore and Watson Terraces, Ada Ryan Gardens is Whyalla's most popular park, offering a serene retreat with lush lawns and gardens. The park features free barbecue and picnic facilities, free tennis courts, playground equipment, and public toilet facilities. Paved paths throughout ensure wheelchair accessibility. Linked to the Whyalla Foreshore, it provides a large, relaxing park area. Established as the city's first major park, it was named after Ada Ryan, wife of the chairman of the then City Commission, Charles Ryan. The gardens were once the site of Whyalla's first cemetery, relocated in August 1918 to Broadbent Terrace.
