Established in 1960 as the 5th Waverley Scout Group, it merged with the 2nd Waverley Scout Group in 1993 to form the 2nd/5th Waverley Scout Group. The hall has been a central hub for various scouting activities, fostering community engagement and youth development. In 1998, the group transitioned its Cub Scouts to the 1st Mount Waverley Cub Scout Pack, and the hall continues to serve the community, now permanently housing a local martial arts group.
