Wuruma Dam, completed in 1968, is a significant water reservoir located on the Nogo River in Queensland's North Burnett Region. With a capacity of 165,400 megalitres, it serves as a vital water source for irrigation and town supplies, benefiting areas such as Eidsvold, Mundubbera, and Gayndah. The dam has become a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping, offering facilities like picnic areas, wood barbecues, designated camping sites, toilets, and boat ramps. Fishing enthusiasts can catch species including Australian Bass, Silver Perch, and Barramundi. Camping is permitted in designated areas, with stays limited to a maximum of three weeks within any four-week period. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own drinking water, as the site does not provide treated water. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash. Open fires are strictly prohibited; however, non-wood-fired barbecues are permitted. The area is managed by Sunwater, which oversees the recreational facilities and ensures the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.
