Wuruma Dam, completed in 1968, is a picturesque reservoir located on the Nogo River in Queensland's North Burnett Region. The dam offers a range of recreational activities, including fishing, boating, and camping. Visitors can enjoy free camping with 40 designated sites, each accommodating various camping setups. Fishing enthusiasts can catch species like barramundi and golden perch, with a Stocked Impoundment Permit required. Boating is permitted, with operators advised to stay at least 200 meters from the dam wall. The area is also home to diverse wildlife, including waterbirds and kangaroos. While the dam provides basic facilities such as toilets, visitors are encouraged to bring their own supplies and practice responsible camping.
