Woronora Dam, completed in 1941, is a heritage-listed concrete gravity dam located approximately 50 kilometers south of Sydney. It serves as a vital water supply for communities south of the Georges River and parts of the Illawarra region. The dam features a serpentine spillway and a 66-meter-high, 390-meter-long wall constructed with massive sandstone blocks quarried on-site. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas, walking trails, and panoramic views of the reservoir and surrounding gorge. The site also preserves remnants of its 1930s construction era, including workers' cottages and historical photographs.
