
Waua Islet, also known as Wyer Island or Waier Island, is a small, uninhabited island in the Torres Strait, Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Murray Islands group, situated approximately 3.5 kilometers south of Mer Island. The islet covers an area of 0.1 square kilometers and is characterized by its flat, low-lying terrain with a maximum elevation of 45 meters. Surrounded by the Coral Sea, Waua Islet is known for its pristine natural environment, including coral reefs and marine biodiversity. Access is primarily by boat, and it is often visited for fishing, snorkeling, and exploring the untouched coastal landscapes.
