
Valley of Lagoons is a rural locality in Queensland's Charters Towers Region, Australia, covering approximately 4,500 square kilometers with a population of 39. The area is renowned for its significant wetlands, including a 36.4 km² basaltic plateau hosting large off-channel lakes that provide permanent aquatic habitats for fish and waterbirds. The Burdekin River originates from the north-eastern slopes of Boulder Mountain, flowing through the locality. The region's rich history includes exploration by Ludwig Leichhardt in 1845 and establishment of the Valley of Lagoons Station in 1862.
