Established in 1985, Torres Strait Islanders Media Association (TSIMA) operates Radio 4MW, a 24-hour service broadcasting across the Torres Strait, Northern Peninsula Area, and parts of Papua New Guinea. TSIMA's mission is to connect the voices and culture of the Torres Strait through media, offering local news, interviews, and a diverse music selection. The association also manages seven of the fourteen RIBS licenses for the Torres Strait region, enabling outer islands to live stream and operate radio broadcasts.
