Nestled within Wilsons Promontory National Park, the Tidal River Open Air Cinema offers a unique outdoor movie experience under the stars. Established in 1968, it has become a cherished tradition for campers and visitors alike. The cinema features a permanent screen, 200 sling-type deck chairs, and adult-size beanbags available for hire. During screenings, visitors can enjoy intermissions with hot chocolate or coffee, and occasionally, wombats may make an appearance. The cinema operates from December 26 each year, running seven nights a week until the end of January, and then for two or three nights on weekends and weeknights until after Easter.
