The Thursday Island Customs House, constructed in 1938, stands as a prominent two-storey masonry building at 2 Victoria Parade, Thursday Island, Queensland. Designed by Harold Barker, it exemplifies the stripped Classical style of institutional architecture from the interwar period. The building features a hipped terracotta tile roof, projecting balconies, and timber shutters, reflecting its adaptation to the tropical climate. Its strategic location underscores its historical significance as a gateway to Australia, serving as a customs office and residence for the sub-collector. The Customs House was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 7 February 2005.
