
The Queens Theatre, established in 1840, is Australia's oldest surviving theatre, located at the corner of Playhouse Lane and Gilles Arcade in Adelaide. Managed by GWB McFarlane Theatres since 2018, it offers a versatile venue for performances and events. The main theatre, known as The Chambers, features exposed 10-meter-high beams and a capacity of up to 400, adaptable for live music, performances, corporate events, and cocktail parties. The Stables, a smaller, intimate space, is currently unavailable until 2026. The venue also includes the Queens Little Bar, situated in the original 1840s location of Shakespeare’s Tavern, offering a historic ambiance for gatherings. Accessible via foot and public transportation, with parking available across the street at 20 Playhouse Lane.
