Port Arthur Historic Site, located on Tasmania's Tasman Peninsula, is Australia's most intact and evocative convict site. Spanning over 100 acres, it features more than 30 historic buildings and ruins, including the Penitentiary, Convict Church, and Separate Prison. Visitors can explore these landmarks through self-guided audio experiences, guided tours, and complimentary site talks. Additional activities include a 90-minute, lantern-lit Ghost Tour, a harbour cruise to the Isle of the Dead cemetery, and the Escape from Port Arthur tour. Dining options range from the Port Arthur Café to the 1830 Restaurant & Bar. The site is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, with tickets valid for two consecutive days.
