The Newnes Plateau Cliffs, nestled within Gardens of Stone National Park, offer a haven for adventure enthusiasts. This area is renowned for its challenging bushwalking, canyoning, rock-climbing, and mountain-biking opportunities. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the meandering Wolgan River, the towering mesas of Pantoneys Crown and Donkey Mountain, and the park's distinctive rock formations. The diverse habitats, including alpine grasses, dwarf heath, and majestic eucalypts, are home to a variety of wildlife, such as kangaroos, wallabies, gliders, and numerous bird species. The plateau is accessible via unsealed roads suitable for 2WD vehicles, though 4WD is recommended during wet conditions. Parking is available along Glow Worm Tunnel Road, but visitors should exercise caution as the cliff edges are unfenced. The area is open year-round, with sections occasionally closed due to weather or fire risks. It's advisable to bring all necessary provisions, as facilities are limited, and to inform someone of your travel plans before visiting.
