Upper Sturt, SA

The Upper Sturt Soldiers Memorial Hall, established in 1935, serves as a vibrant community hub in Upper Sturt, South Australia. Managed by a dedicated volunteer committee, the hall hosts a variety of events, including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services, an annual Art Show, Christmas in July, line dances, Death Cafes, and the Annual Strawberry Fair. Collaborations with local groups such as the Upper Sturt Primary School, Upper Sturt CFS, the Country Women's Association, and businesses like the Adelaide Hills Flower Cart and The Upper Sturt General Store enrich its offerings. Proceeds from these events support the maintenance of the heritage-listed building and fund future activities. The hall is also part of the Recovery Ready Program and is planning the development of the adjacent Old Post Office through a subcommittee. Donations are welcomed to help sustain this cherished community space.
