The S.A. State Emergency Service (SES) Kangaroo Island Unit, located at 16 Acacia Drive in Kingscote, is a dedicated volunteer organization committed to providing emergency assistance across Kangaroo Island. Operating 24/7, the unit responds to a variety of incidents, including general rescues, flood operations, land searches, storm damage, and road crash rescues. Training sessions are held every Thursday at 7:30 pm, welcoming new volunteers to join their ranks. For storm and flood emergencies, residents can contact the SES directly at 132 500.
