Pukatja, formerly known as Ernabella, is a vibrant Aboriginal community located in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of South Australia. Established in 1937, it is Australia's oldest continuously running Indigenous art centre, Ernabella Arts, which promotes and supports ethical practices in the creation and sale of Indigenous art. The community is home to approximately 497 residents, with a median age of 26. Pukatja offers a unique cultural experience, blending traditional Aboriginal heritage with contemporary art and community life.
