The PS Canally, a historic side-wheel paddle steamer launched in 1907, is being meticulously restored by dedicated volunteers at Morgan's riverfront. Originally built in Koondrook, NSW, it was renowned as the "Greyhound of the Murray" for its speed. Over the years, it served various roles, including transporting wool and dried fruits, and assisting in the construction of the Murray River lock and weir system. By the 1950s, it was repurposed as a barge before sinking in 1957. In 1998, the Rivers and Riverboat Historical & Preservation Society raised the vessel, initiating its restoration. In 2010, ownership transferred to the Mid Murray Council, and the restoration continued at Morgan's historic wharf. The community eagerly anticipates the PS Canally's return to cruising on the Murray River in 2025.
