Prince Regent National Park, established in 1964, spans 5,764 square kilometers in Western Australia's Kimberley region. Accessible only by boat or air, it offers pristine wilderness with lush rainforests, sandstone plains, gorges, and cliffs. Notable features include the Prince Regent River, which flows almost straight for most of its length between near-vertical cliffs, and the King's Cascade waterfall. The park is home to over 500 plant species and more than half the mammal and bird species found in the Kimberley region, including the vulnerable golden bandicoot and monjon rock-wallaby. Visitors can explore the Mermaid Tree at Careening Bay, where Lieutenant Phillip Parker King inscribed his ship's name in 1820. Fishing is permitted outside sanctuary zones in the Lalang-garram/Camden Sound Marine Park, subject to regulations. A Dambimangari Visitor Pass is required for entry.
