O'Keefe to support local grazing, the hut was rebuilt in 2007-2008 after a fire, approximately 20 meters southwest of its original location. The interior features walls adorned with 1940s newspapers, adding a unique historical charm. Situated near Mount Jagungal, it offers a cozy refuge for hikers and campers, with nearby camping spots and scenic views. The hut is accessible via the Round Mountain Hut walking track, a 4 km return journey through the picturesque Jagungal Wilderness Area.
