
Narran Lake Nature Reserve, also known as 'Dharriwaa,' is a 26,480-hectare protected area in north-west New South Wales, approximately 50 km east of Brewarrina. Established in 1988, it is jointly managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Yuwaalaraay/Euahlayi people. The reserve is internationally recognized under the Ramsar Convention for its significant wetlands and unique ecological communities. Access is restricted to protect nesting birds, allowing entry only for scientific studies. The reserve is culturally significant to the Yuwaalaraay/Euahlayi people, serving as a traditional meeting place with numerous sites of cultural importance.
