Mount Schank, a dormant volcanic cinder cone, rises approximately 100 meters above the coastal plain, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. A 900-meter signposted trail leads visitors to the summit, where a 2-kilometer rim walk provides breathtaking vistas of Mount Gambier and the surrounding areas. The area encompasses about 150 hectares, including the volcano and its extensions, and is recognized as a South Australian Geological Monument. Facilities include picnic areas, barbecues, and accessible parking, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
