The area features a mix of grazing on native vegetation, sugarcane cultivation, and aquaculture, including prawn hatcheries and farming. Geographically, Midgeree Bar is bordered to the northeast by Maria Creek, which flows into the Coral Sea, with coastal access limited to the southern side of the creek mouth.
