Marong Rifle Range (SSAA)

The Marong Rifle Range, located on Marong-Serpentine Road in Marong, Victoria, is a premier facility managed by the Bendigo Branch of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA). This well-equipped range features a covered firing line with 24 movable benches, accommodating various shooting positions such as standing and sitting. It welcomes a wide range of firearms, from air rifles to big game rifles. Target frames can be set at distances of 25, 50, 100, 150, or 200 meters, and rimfire metallic silhouette stands extend to 200 meters. The range offers a diverse selection of targets, including fun plinking targets and specialized competition formats. Shotgun facilities are also available for practice or competition. The Bendigo Branch conducts monthly meetings at the range on the first Saturday of each month at 2 pm, following the Saturday Benchrest Competition. The Safety And Family Firearms Education (SAFFE) program is held on the second Sunday of each month from 9:45 am, providing open days for individuals interested in trying shooting sports under the guidance of qualified instructors. General shooting sessions are open to both members and the public on the first and third Sundays of each month at 12 pm, all under the supervision of friendly, qualified range officers.
